UK Virtual School
Times are changing and education is adapting.
We are truly a school without walls. We allow families the opportunity and freedom to choose an education that fits around their lifestyle and learning needs. Our school is built around children and families in mind. Our founder has extensive experience working with home educated children. We cater exclusively to home educating families, whether it’s temporary, whether you are a longer term homeschooler looking to outsource some of the subjects, or whether you are wanting to achieve a complete free lifestyle of travel and would like the education to go with you.
We match children to ability groups, not to age groups. This means they are placed in classes where they are appropriately challenged, but not overwhelmed. The correct balance of challenge allows confidence and competence to develop
Growth Mindset
What does this mean?
Growth Mindset is the mindset of someone who doesn’t limit themselves. We’re ready for a challenge and ready to accept that we don’t have all the answers. BUT we can find them, we can learn, we can make mistakes and grow from that process. It’s the mindset that gives permission to students to go for an answer and not be fearful of getting it wrong. The process is important. The journey and participation in a challenge is applauded.
Growth mindset creates people who are passionate to learn, to build more knowledge, to harness their skills further.
The sky is the limits – actually, no, the universe is.

Diversity & Inclusion

We’re all different, yet we’re all humans.
At UKVS, we understand our individual quirks and personalities mean that no two children are the same. We learn differently, we work at different paces, we have different likes and dislikes. The family at UKVS is a community of individuals. We’re passionate about embracing our uniqueness. We welcome all children; neurotypical, neurodiverse, children with SEN needs, anxieties… everyone.
Everyone has a unique perspective to bring to our community. We work with you to support you and your children in the best way possible, as individuals.

Curiosity
Children, by nature, are curious. This is how they learn. As parents and educators, it is our role to facilitate the curiosity to ensure they don’t lose that innate scientific enquiry mind.
We encourage questions. We encourage curiosity. No question is a silly question because every question quenches our thirst and desire to know and understand and make sense of the world we find ourselves in.
Curiosity leads to us exploring. It’s another one of our values at UK Virtual School, embedded in both the classroom and outside. Our aim is to eventually offer residential trips for our students, where they can really put their curiosity into action, learn about a new country, it’s culture, its history, geography, traditions and belief systems.
But we don’t always need to be traveling to quench this desire to learn. Our new “World Views” subject starting in September 2021, will bring the world to the classroom. Each month the students will explore a new country in depth.
Let’s get your maps out and start exploring.

Innovation

Staying true to our values is important to us, both inside and outside the classroom. We have to practice what we preach and we do so by building relationships with our students and their parents. Our monthly parents’ meetings and also kids’ meetings allow us to take feedback and constantly implement new innovative ideas.
By solving problems we naturally innovate with new ideas. This is a skill we challenge our learners to develop, giving them opportunity to create and present ideas and take part in innovative projects at social clubs.
To constantly receive feedback enables us to constantly evolve and innovate.
