Ruth
Role: Wellbeing and Positive Psychology Teacher
Year Groups: Primary and Secondary
Degree: BA Hons in English, PGThP in Theatre Studies, PGCE in Secondary English & Drama, MSc in Applied Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology
Taught in: Zambia and UK
I started teaching Art, Drama and English in 1994 and have taught ever since at both Primary and Secondary levels in boarding schools and in day schools in Zambia and in the UK.
As part of my work in boarding, I travelled to visit students in schools all over the world and I’m fascinated with different ways of teaching and learning.
I am passionate about student well-being and in 2018 I retrained so that I could teach Positive Psychology and help support improved well-being in students of all ages.
I’m particularly interested in the impact of culture shock on well-being and happiness and I’m endlessly curious about how humans think, learn and experience identity and self. Outside of the classroom, I love coaching, cooking and canoeing!
