We’re very excited to be a finalist for the Small Business Entrepreneur of the Year category at the 2021 Great British Entrepreneur Awards for the Midlands region. They received a record of 4,800 entries this year across eight regions – which makes being a finalist that much more special!
The Great British Entrepreneur Awards was launched in 2012. This year, our founder Syd represents UK Virtual School as a finalist.
Message from our founder, Syd: “I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the support we’ve received from the community, for our amazing staff body that have worked through, what has been a tough year emotionally and mentally, and to all the families who saw our potential and trusted their child’s education with us when we were only just starting out.”
It’s been a year.
A year since UK Virtual School was founded.
It’s not been a typical year.
We’ve been through multiple lockdowns, in a global pandemic, that left many people without work and took the lives of many others.
It’s been a tough year on so many different levels.
Throughout this period, UK Virtual School has grown from strength to strength. We’ve created a sense of community and family in our small online school. Our staff body has formed a friendship that goes beyond typical colleague type relationships.
We’re the motivation that keeps each other going.
We’re a family.
And this gets extended to our students and parents. We pride ourselves in the family feel we create, the community we developed and the learning we nurture.
We’re not just any school, we dare to be different.
Our core values stand us apart. We’re not about testing, assessments, and marking. Learning is much deeper than that. It’s exciting, thought-provoking, and mindset-shifting.
The fabric of who we are is intertwined in our teaching, our ethos, our school.
The most exciting thing is, we’re only just starting.
This is our first year and what a year it has been!
